About
Arduino is opensource hardware.The arduino is based around either an atmel atmega 168 or atmel atmega 8 dependant on the board version.
The arduino is programmed in processing using the ide that is freeely available from Here
The ide is written in Java so make sure you have the JRE (Java Runtime Environment) installed.
If not you can download from Here If you are using Linux I would suggest using your package manager.
For windows download the JRE installer.

- LCD - 8 bit LCD libary
- LCD 4 Bit - 4 bit version of the above libary (4xXX lcds supported)
Recomended over the LCD libary as it uses less pins and frees up 4 of the digital pins compared to above.
